Our Junior section are aged between 8 and 11 years.
We usually have around 20 girls in this Section. We wear a uniform consisting of a white shirt with red tie, navy skirt, navy
sweatshirt, white
socks, and black shoes.
Junior Circles
Junior badges are called Circles. There are three Circles which can be earned
by
each girl, and it takes a year to work for each Circle.
Each Circle is split into four sections; Spiritual, Physical, Educational and
Service. All four sections need to be completed, each involving a
minimum of three hours teaching, for a Junior to
receive a Circle.
Attendance Awards
Girls can also gain attendance awards in the form of badges which are pinned
to the armband along with the Circles:
- Company Service – gained by attending 75% of Company nights.
- Church Service – awarded to girls who regularly attend a Church
or Junior Church.
Apart from badge work, the girls undertake many other activities, such as
craft, games, outings, etc. Each year we hold a Junior Sleepover. All Juniors are invited to
stay at our Church overnight. We offer various activities during the
sleepover to ensure fun is had by all. The Juniors are also invited to come to our annual Summer Camp, when we go
away for five days with the Juniors, Seniors and Brigaders.
At Christmas, we either hold a Fun Night which sometimes consists of a disco,
or
we all go on an outing somewhere. In July, we hold a Display and Awards Evening, when the Juniors all take part
in an item in the Display, and also receive any badges they have worked for all
year and any shields they have been awarded. The Juniors also hold a Junior Team Games competition between themselves at
the Display, and a cup is awarded to the winning team. We then round off the year with an end of year party, with a disco, food and
games.
