BIBLELANDS PRAYER NEWS

As we turn again to pray for this vital work in The Middle East we remember our partners in Egypt.  EM Bounds wrote in his reflection
on Luke 6 v12 'Jesus went out to the mountain to pray and continued all night in prayer to God' that 'Jesus was always a busy man
with his work, but he was never too busy to pray.  The most divine of business filled his heart and filled his hands, consumed his time
and exhausted his nerves.  Yet with him even God's work did not crowd out God's praying.... Jesus filled his day with working for God
and he used the night to pray to God.  The day-working made the night-praying a necessity.  The night-praying sanctified and made
succesful the day-working'. Can you give time to bathe this work of BibleLands with your prayers?

Egypt

The Diocese of Egypt, North Africa and the Horn of Africa covers a huge geographical area. The Diocese runs many compassionate ministries that work to meet the physical and economic needs that exist locally – demonstrating the love of Christ in action. Please pray that these outreach ministries bear much fruit.

The Hadana Kindergarten, in a very poor area of Cairo, offers low-cost, often free, care for up to 50 children, aged between 2 and 6 years.  Many of the children are from broken families and the staff encourage each child to develop a positive self-image through affirmation and encouragement. This Kindergarten is run by the Diocese of Egypt, who would appreciate prayers for the children in their care.

Refuge Egypt in Cairo provides emergency care and ongoing support to the many displaced people who continue to arrive in Egypt, mainly from Sudan. They are one of the few providers of medical care, education, training, employment and help with repatriation and resettlement. Please pray for this centre (run by the Diocese of Egypt) and for those that it helps who do not know what their future holds.

Shams el Birr, in 6th October City on the outskirts of Cairo, is a centre for children and adults with visual impairments and children with a variety of learning disabilities. With a focus on inclusion, the centre supports each individual, their family and the community that they live in.  Please pray for the staff as they seek to provide the highest standards of care to all.

Quotes: Dr Morcos, Shams El Birr: “Thank you so much for your great concern toward our centre, God bless you.”
