Hiring the Premises
The public and organisations such as clubs or groups are
welcome to hire The Welcome Centre in order to hold their own events, clubs or
activities, whether one-off occasions or on a regular basis. We are
situated in Pier Avenue which is right in the centre of Clacton and we can offer
you:
- Two halls - The Welcome Hall and the Fellowship Hall
- 1 Meeting Room - The Friendship Lounge
- 1 Counselling Room - The Quiet Room
- Main Auditorium
The Atrium
The Welcome Centre starts as you enter the new Atrium, which
is the heart of the complex. Here is an area to relax or to enjoy drinks
from the
Servery. A place to be quiet after concentrating perhaps, or to make
friends, have a chat or 'chill out'. With its large roof lights, it has
been designed to be light with good ventilation in the Summer and warm in the
Winter. From here is access to the two main halls:
The Welcome
Hall
The light and airy hall takes around 100 people seated at
tables and up to 150 seated in rows more formally. It is ideal for all kinds of
groups and with a non-slip floor covering is laid out for Badminton. The
main kitchen can be used to provide meals as required, is equipped with fridge,
freezer, dishwasher, cooker/oven and plate warmer cabinet and is next to, but
independent of the two halls. At the rear there are two toilets, including
one for the use of the disabled. Amplification, including a loop system,
is available on request.
The Fellowship hall
This hall is about the same size as the Welcome Hall, again
seating 100 or more people, but offering quite different facilities.
The most obvious of these is the
stage, which has a small console controlling
the stage lighting and sound system. There is a sound loop system
available here also if required. A corridor leads off to the toilets
(which is due for refurbishment in the coming months). To the left of the
stage there is a kitchenette, ideal for serving light refreshments and
drinks.
The Friendship Lounge
This is at the front of the main building and will seat around
50 people. It has easy access with a disabled ramp and also has a coffee
bar. Leading off this is ...
The Quiet
Room which is ideal for counselling or for small
committee meetings.
The Main Auditorium
The Church will seat around 300 and is ideal for concerts or
lectures. There is a large platform, organ and piano, overhead projection
screen, amplification and hearing loop system.
