Esther Kintu

During 2003-04, Esther (nee Nabiryo) came to work at Pier Avenue Baptist Church, as a Volunteer Youth and Children’s worker.  She was giving a year of her life to working with us here in the UK, through an organisation called 'Careforce'.

Esther is from Jinja, the second largest town in Uganda, on the shores of Lake Victoria.  During her year with us, we got to know a lot about her country, and this culminated in a ‘Uganda Day’ in July 2004, when we ate Ugandan food, sang Ugandan worship songs, and celebrated African style!

Esther returned to her home in August 2004, but the link has continued.  Several people from our Church visited Jinja for Esther’s wedding to Michael Kintu, in February 2005, and we hope that we will be able to go on supporting Esther and Michael in their work for the Lord in years to come.  Michael works for an American charity called ‘World Vision’ and Esther is currently setting up a Christian youth organisation, like Careforce in Uganda.  Their Home Church is ‘Jinja Gateway Miracle Center’.

Baptist Missionary Society

The Baptist Missionary Society (BMS) has workers in Uganda who require prayer.  Their latest prayer request is available here.
